THE CHANNEL 103 GREAT DOG WALK
The second Channel 103 Great Dog Walk, held on Sunday 5th November 2005, was again a wonderful success. It was a glorious sunny winter's day which enticed many dog owners and walkers alike to come and show their support for the JSPCA Animals' Shelter. Approximately 650 people and their four legged friends joined members of the JSPCA Animals' Shelter team who were walking Animals' Shelter dogs that were looking for new homes.
The dog walk began at 11am and saw many dogs and their owners walking from West Park to Bel Royal and back. Some energetic walkers and their dogs even walked to St Aubins and back. Many thanks to everyone who attended and it was great to see so many people and their dogs thoroughly enjoying the day.
Many thanks to Channel 103 for organising the event, the JSPCA staff and all of the walkers and their dogs who attended and for their generosity - your support is much appreciated, for which the JSPCA Animals' Shelter is very grateful. £1100 was raised on the day and this kind and generous show of support will ultimately enable the JSPCA Animals' Shelter to continue its work caring for the injured, stray and unwanted animals on the Island.
