ADCH
ANNUAL MEETING TO BE HELD AT THE JSPCA ANIMALS’ SHELTER
The JSPCA Animals' Shelter is proud to be hosting the
association of Dogs and Cats Homes (ADCH) Annual Meeting which is to be
held on 18th July 2003.
The Association of Dogs and Cats Homes was founded in 1985
in order to bring together dog and cat welfare organisations and to aid
communication between these like-minded charities.
It acts as a platform for identifying and disseminating information
on best practice and for raising the standards of animal welfare.

- The Jersey Society for the
Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (JSPCA) was founded in 1868 with the
intention of attempting to change public attitudes towards animals.
The Jersey Animals’ Shelter itself was founded in 1913 by Miss
Francis Elizabeth Wilson and in 1926, the JSPCA formed a Committee to
assist Miss Wilson in her work. The
JSPCA Animals’ Shelter provides a range of services relating to animal
care and welfare such as welfare investigations, offering veterinary
treatment at the Veterinary Welfare Clinic, assistance with injured
wildlife, education and re-homing animals.
- The Association of Dogs and Cats
Homes (ADCH) is comprised of members from a multitude of charities of
all sizes situated throughout England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland and the
Channel Isles. The purpose
of the ADCH is to:
- Develop
good Practice and influence others working in the rescue and/or
rehoming of dogs and cats.
- Address
common problems and issues.
- Exchange
information internally and provide mutual support.
- Combine
resources to encourage Governments to introduce workable, pet
welfare legislation.

knowledge and experience in the building of new centres.
