PRESS RELEASE

Recognition
for a JSPCA past President's dedication to helping animals
Mr Blampied, past President of the JSPCA, has been newly appointed as the President of the Association of Dogs and Cats Homes.
The Association
of Dogs and Cats homes (ADCH) was formed in 1985 to unite dog and cat
welfare organisations in matters of concern and importance regarding stray
and unwanted dogs and cats. Members
include charities of all sizes situated throughout the United Kingdom, with
current membership consisting of nearly 50 member organisations, including
Battersea Dogs Home, RSPCA, Dogs Trust, Cats Protection League, Wood Green
Animal Shelters, JSPCA and GSPCA. The
ADCH has 18 Executive members, which includes the JSPCA, who attend four
meetings a year.
Mr Blampied, a veterinary surgeon, was
President of the JSPCA for eleven years, retiring in 2002.
Alongside his regular veterinary duties, he has spent many years
assisting in animal welfare issues through his work with the JSPCA
Animals’ Shelter and the Alderney Animal Welfare Society. Mr Jonathan Morley-Kirk, current President of the JSPCA, said
“Mr Blampied’s appointment as President of the ADCH is a long overdue
recognition of his distinguished career and efforts towards helping
animals. Nick will be a
splendid ambassador for the Association”.
The ADCH President is invited to attend the regular meetings of the ADCH members as well as the ADCH Conference, which provides a forum where topical animal welfare issues are discussed.
