Friends of the Animal Shelter (FOTAS)

FOTAS is a small but expanding group of volunteers who dedicate their spare time to raising funds in support of the work of the Animals’ Shelter.  The group meets once a month to exchange ideas and plan for future fund-raising events.  Fund-raising events that have been held in the past include:

• Car Boot Sales

• Stalls at Fetes and in the Market

• Social Evenings

• Raffles and Tombolas

• Sales of greeting cards and merchandise

• Flag weeks

• Collection Boxes

• The 100 Club

Over recent years, FOTAS have raised funds for a variety of projects, including the development and equipping of the Exotics Unit at the Shelter and the improvement of the laundry facilities.  The latest project has been the re-furbishing of one of the kennel blocks.
