WILDLIFE MURAL UNVEILED IN THE JSPCA'S EDUCATION CENTRE
An 18 foot long mural painted by local artist, Jonathan Hudson, for the JSPCA's Education Centre has been unveiled. This beautiful mural depicting local wildlife species, along with their relevant life cycles, will be significant in teaching children about the sustainability of nature and how we should respect and look after our countryside.
It was officially unveiled on 28th November 2003 by Mr Mike Stentiford, Chairman of Action for Wildlife, and Mrs Sue Morley, Chair lady of FOTAS. FOTAS (Friends of the Animals' Shelter) kindly raised the necessary funds for the mural and are very pleased with the result:

ENDS
FOTAS is a small but
expanding group of volunteers who dedicate their spare time to raising
funds in support of the work of the Animals’ Shelter.
The group meets once a month to exchange ideas and plan for
future fund-raising events. Fund-raising
events that have been held in the past include:
Car Boot Sales
Stalls at Fetes and in the Market
Social Evenings
Raffles and Tombolas
Sales of greeting cards and merchandise
Flag weeks
Collection Boxes
The
100 Club
Over recent years, FOTAS have raised funds for a variety of projects, including the development and equipping of the Exotics Unit at the Shelter and the improvement of the laundry facilities.
FOTAS always welcomes new members and new ideas for fund-raising and any contributions will be gratefully received. FOTAS meets on the last Thursday of each month at 7.30pm in the Committee Room at the Animals’ Shelter. If you would like to join, please contact the JSPCA Animals' Shelter.
