PRESS RELEASE

HAIR TODAY, GONE TOMORROW!
Whilst on holiday in New Zealand, Jerseyman John McLaughlin became a hero after rescuing two children from a particularly perilous stretch of surf that had already claimed 12 lives in a three week period. Mr McLaughlin dashed to rescue the two youngsters (aged eight and six) after they were caught in strong rip currents and dragged out to sea.
On his return to Jersey, he learnt of the plight of the JSPCA Animals' Shelter and has furthered his chivalrous nature in offering to be sponsored to cut off his dreadlocks, after nine years of growth. All sponsorship money raised through this unusual hair-raising event was donated to the JSPCA Animals' Shelter, totalling £1006.
A big thank you to all who generously sponsored this event and especially to John McLaughlin for his bravery in deciding to take the plunge and have his long hair cut short!
