Other ways to help
There are other ways to help the JSPCA Animals' Shelter, as an alternative to making a monetary donation.
Members of the public often donate gifts to the Animals' Shelter, other than money, and the Animals' Shelter is always very grateful to everyone who helps through these gift donations.
Gifts that are always needed at the Animals' Shelter include:
Dog toys - tough, durable, easily cleanable ideally
Cat toys - ping pong balls, catnip toys
Bedding - quilts/duvets, cat beds, towels, etc
Blankets - big, sturdy woollen ones
Large knitted blankets without holes
Indoor dog pens
Cat baskets
Dog treats, particularly pressed raw hide chews
Dog leads and harnesses
Tupperware containers for keeping dry food and treats in
Complete water bottles in good condition for rabbits and other rodents
The JSPCA Animals' Shelter is always very appreciative of every donation it receives.
There are also some less obvious things that the Animals' Shelter can use to help it look after the animals of Jersey:
persil washing powder
washing up liquid
paper towels
copy paper and general stationary items
fresh fruit and vegetables
small paint brushes (for feeding baby birds)
propagators (for rearing nestlings and fledglings)
grooming equipment that is in good condition
